The “Ipshita Memorial” was established in October 2010 in loving memory of our beautiful daughter and sister; Ipshita Roy. We tragically lost our beloved Ipshita in a road traffic accident on 23rd of August 2010.
Since 2013, we (Sunil, Shipra, Sushmita and Ovishek) have been hosting the “Ipshita Memorial Charity Barbecue” around Ipshita’s birthday to raise money for several worthwhile causes both in the UK and Abroad. Through your incredible generosity, we have raised funds for many organisations including those dedicated to stroke & cancer sufferers, people with learning disabilities & mental health problems and a Renal Transplant Unit (Portsmouth, UK).
In addition, we have volunteered and donated to several projects such as; HAVEN (Help a Village Emerge New) Medical Camps and SABUJ SANGHA in West Bengal, India.
Ipshita was an extremely kind, fun-loving, imaginative and generous person. Her first thought was always to think of others. Throughout her life, she committed herself to several charitable causes, which brought her immense pleasure. Many of you who know Ipshita, will agree that she was a truly exceptional person.
It is for this reason; we have set up this charitable organisation; "Ipshita Memorial" to raise money in honour and recognition of Ipshita's pure and giving nature.
The “Ipshita Memorial” logo is “Turning Memories into Hope .....” and we hope through her charity, we are able to achieve this.
Thank you for all your support and generosity.
Best wishes,
The Roy Family
