This year we had an “Art Gallery” theme to celebrate Ipshita’s beautiful gift for art.
Ipshita was a very talented artist and the intention of this year’s charitable barbecue was to raise money by showcasing her art in the “Ipshita Memorial Charity Barbecue and Art Gallery”.
The “Peacock” logo for Ipshita Memorial is taken from one of Ipshita’s paintings on our front pathway. Please have a look at some of Ipshita’s pieces of art in “Ipshita’s Art Gallery” on our website.
Ipshita was very interested in neurology and, in fact, completed an intercalated BSc in Neuroscience during her medical degree. It is because of Ipshita’s love of art and interest in neuro-rehabilitation that we have chosen to donate to “Mind” and “Stroke Association” this year.
We have donated to specific projects where art is used to rehabilitate those with mental illness or those who have suffered a stroke.
1)“Mind”
Mind is a charity dedicated to ensuring that nobody “has to face a mental illness alone”. We were drawn to this charity by the “Arts Therapies projects” used in treating mental illness.
2) “Stroke Association”
Stroke Association is a charity to support rebuild their lives after suffering from a stroke.
