This year, thanks to your amazing generosity, we raised money towards two charitable organisations; a school in Sabuj Sangha Orphanage (West Bengal, India) and SCOPE.
1) School in Sabuj Sangha Orphanage (West Bengal, India)
“Sabuj Sangha” is a charitable project based in a village; Nandakumarpur, Sundarban, West Bengal, India. The school and orphanage provides a unique service and shelter to children from; those rescued from human trafficking, abandoned children and children of poor parents who are unable to support them due to poverty.
At present, the school which conducts teaching for the students of primary and Intermediate section.
Our donation supported the following;
- 25 tables & 25 benches to seat 50 students in the primary section of the school
- 35 blankets to the children residents of Sabuj Sangha Orphanage
2) SCOPE
Scope is a national disability charity based in England and Wales. It campaigns to challenge and change negative attitudes about disability through campaigns and community engagement programmes. Scope provides practical advice and emotional support whenever people need them the most.
Our donation to SCOPE supported the following projects;
• Two Face-to-Face training sessions for parent befrienders (16 new befrienders were trained).
• Three events have been held for fathers and their children this year, which included bowling, sailing and a crazy golf session reaching 26 fathers in total across the country.
• Three family information sessions for parents focusing on the Disability Living Allowance toolkit developed by Cerebra. These were held in conjunction with Cerebra who delivered the training.
